LEXUS DATES
AND RULE CHANGES 
2012

The dates for the 2012 Lexus European Fly Fishing Championships have been announced, along with a number of rule changes. 

Team championship rule changes for 2012 are:
 
 
1, The final results will provide a detailed list of individual placings.
2, Those placings will be ranked from 1st place (1 place point) 2nd place (2 place points) 3rd place (3 place points) and so on…..
3, Anyone failing to catch a trout will be awarded place points equivalent to the number of competitors i.e. 8 teams of six members = 48 competitors = 48 place points.
4, All 6 team members’ place points will be added together and the team with the lowest number of place points will be the winner.
5, This system will reward the most consistent team.

2012 ENGLAND LOCH-STYLE TEAM

One-hundred of the country's top fly fishers battled for a place in the 2012 England Loch-style Team at Grafham Water.
 

Top of the qualifying list was Kim Green who took his 8 fish limit by 12.14pm on short drifts across Deep Water Point. 

Kim caught 7 of his fish in the first hour with a team of three flies consisting a Cruncher, a Diawl Bach and a Hare’s Ear Nymph.

However, other competitors were quick to hone-in on his success. Boats crowded the area and he had to wait
another 1.25 hours to catch his eighth.
 

The biggest fish of the day was netted by Denis Symonds who caught a 5lb 27/8oz rainbow with a Hares Ear nymph and a floating line.

BRISTOL WATER FISHING DATES and PRICES - 2012 

The opening days for the Bristol Water 2012 trout fishing season will be staggered.
 

Barrow Tanks will open on Friday March 2. Blagdon on Friday March 16 and Chew Valley Lake one week later on Friday March 23. Closing dates will be November 30.
 

Please note: Barrow Tank 3 will not be available for fishing for the whole of the 2012 season and extra fish will be stocked into Tanks 1 and 2 to compensate.
 

A Season Ticket to fish all waters will cost £700.00 while a Chew and Barrow Tanks ticket will cost £570.00. A Barrow Tanks tab costs £435.00 while a weekend ticket will be £275.00.
 

Boats on Chew Valley Lake will cost £35.00 per rod. Blagdon £30.00 and Litton £65.00.

Bank fishing at Chew Valley Lake is available at £17.00 per rod, Blagdon £20.00 per rod and Barrows £15-0-0.
 


Pike fishing dates are as follows and all sessions will be for both bank and boat fishermen.

January 23-29; February 6-12 and 20-26. October 15-20 and 25-30. November 4-9, 14-20 and 25-30.
 

Boat fishing will cost £32.50 per person while bank fishing will be £16.50 per person.
 

Please note: Restrictions on fishing areas may apply to pike anglers.
